Websites and software, built properly and handed over.

I'm Jayant Sapra, an independent web and software consultant in Victoria, BC. I design and build websites, online stores and the systems behind them. When the work is done, the code and accounts are yours.

Sound familiar?

  • Changing a line on the website means emailing someone and waiting a week.

  • Orders, stock and shipping live in three places that never agree.

  • Someone on the team copies the same data between systems every week.

  • The last developer moved on, and nobody is sure who has the passwords.

All of these can be fixed, usually without starting over. Here's how I work

Working with me

  1. You work with the person building it.

No account managers and no hand-offs between teams. The person you scope the project with is the person who designs and writes it.

  2. A fixed price before anything is built.

We define the scope together first. You then get a fixed quote for that work, so the cost is settled before the build starts.

  3. Support after launch, if you want it.

Updates, fixes and new features once the project is live. It is there when you need it, not a condition of the project.

  4. At the end, everything is yours.

The code, the domain, the hosting and the service accounts belong to you. You are never locked in to working with me.

Recent client work

Two platforms I designed and built that are live today, and ongoing systems work for a community organization.

Client work

Websites. Commerce. Systems.

Three kinds of work that are often parts of the same project. A new store needs a website; a website often needs to talk to a CRM.

Websites

Sites your team can update without calling a developer.

  • Marketing and organization websites
  • Content management (CMS) setup
  • WordPress sites and multisite
  • Education and resource libraries
  • Keyboard, contrast and structure checks

Example project

mberb

Commerce

Online stores connected to the work that happens after the order.

  • Storefront, cart and checkout
  • Stripe payments
  • Shipping rates and labels
  • Inventory and order management
  • Admin tools for your team

Example project

Urumi Athletics

Systems

Connecting the tools you already use, so people stop re-typing data.

  • CRM setup and configuration
  • Integrations between services
  • Internal dashboards and admin screens
  • Automating repeated manual steps
  • Moving data between platforms

Example project

Building Bridges

Here's the plan.

Every project follows the same four steps, whether it is a small website fix or a new platform.

  1. 1. Understand

We talk through the goals, the people who will use it and what it has to connect to. I ask a lot of questions at this stage.

  2. 2. Scope and quote

You get a written scope and a fixed price for that work. Nothing is built until you have agreed to both.

  3. 3. Build and check

You see working previews as it comes together. We test it against the agreed scope before it goes live.

  4. 4. Launch and hand over

It goes live, and the code, domain and accounts are yours. Ongoing support is available if you want it.

About me

I'm Jayant Sapra, an independent web and software consultant based in Victoria, BC. I work on my own, so the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.

I work with businesses and organizations that need something dependable rather than flashy: a site staff can update, a store that matches the stockroom, systems that share data.
